Latour on Snooth
Am in Tokyo for several years now, so tend to view this holiday with particular ... reds (a '96 Les Forts de Latour, a 2005 Auteur Shea Pinot Noir, and a 2007 Rhone since we are giving thanks for very good things this...
I visited BV in August. Best pour I tried aside from the G.deLatour was their 2006 Napa Zinfandel. Not sure if it's available outside the winery, but a very big, round, Zin.
Our local big liquor store chain who is generally pretty unbeatable for prices ... tasting) was the Georges de Latour. I was very luck to grab the 2005 for like $55 and it's relaxing in my wine cellar presently. They...
A bit reticent with it’s slightly gamy toned warm dark fruit. This grows to reveal earth, mineral and minty, floral tones that frame the jammy bitter cherry fruit. A bit relaxed across the palate this has lovely bitter...
Rather oaky on the nose with candied medicinal tones and notes of roasted root vegetables that are earthy and sweet. This pulls itself together well adding a dried porcini tone and notes of cigar smoke. Moderately rich...
Louis Latour Vin de Pays des Coteaux du Verdon Domaine de Valmoissine 2006
Starting at $10.51 Snoothrank: 3.5/5Fat Fatty, I was thinking more of a BV George de Latour or Mondavi from the '70s, Montelena, Stag's Leap, Groth, Duckhorn or even La Jota Howell Mountain from the '80s, or Phelps or Diamond Creek from the early 90s, all...
Smooth and Rounded Wine - not impressed with structure or body - kind of boring - but easy to drink. Bought for around $11.00.
Louis Latour Vin de Pays des Coteaux du Verdon Domaine de Valmoissine 2006
Starting at $10.51 Snoothrank: 3.5/5This is a BIG wine but yet it is still easy and soft on the palate. Lovely rich dark red colour with all the hints of spice and red fruits. No tannins to tell of and so a lovely warm finish and lingering. Smooth after...
Soft red fruit, smooth texture, and an unusual, highly appealing sweet/savoury character to which I frustratingly cannot put a name. Suggestions please.
Louis Latour Vin de Pays des Coteaux du Verdon Domaine de Valmoissine 2006
Starting at $10.51 Snoothrank: 3.5/5Bright aromas with a fungal funkiness and some baked pears mashed in. Medium thick mouthfeel, with medium acidity, light fruit and more than a touch of oak. The finish kind of drops off, lingering mostly with the oak flavors.
