Lapostolle was founded by the legendary family behind Grand Marnier. Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle brought French winemaking practices to Chile, where she was a pioneer in leading the development of fine quality wines. The winery uses organic and biodynamic practices, and the wines are consistently rated 90+ points. Most recently, Wine Enthusiast named Lapostolle “New World Winery of the Year” in 2008.

  • Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

    Snoothrank:

Lovely dusty nose of dark berry fruit with hints of nutmeg, wet stone, tar and black pepper. Big minerality among the cassis, currant and black/blueberry fruit. On the palate it's richly textured, full bodied and lush. Marked minerality on the palate with roasty notes and dark berry fruit. Tight acid and tannin yet so this should get better ... Read More

  • Casa Lapostolle Sauvignon Blanc Rapel Valley 2011

    Snoothrank:

Not a bad sauvignon blanc from Chile. More citrus than grapefruit, some minerality, slightly spicy with a decent finish. Read More

  • Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Carmenere 2009

    Snoothrank:

This is a really solid bottle for $15. Lots of cherry, blackberry notes, and spice. Good balance and a creamy mouth feel. I am excited to find a bottle this good at this price point. Read More

  • Cuvee Alexandre 009676 Casa Lapostolle Carmenere Cuv Alex 2007

    Snoothrank:

I can't quite remember exactly how this bottle tasted (no, I didn't black out from getting shit-faced) as it was awhile ago and I never reviewed it sooner. Other than the label, the wine doesn't stick out in my memory too much; therefore, I know it was a good bottle of wine but not the best...this review isn't helpful at all. Read More
