Mark Wagner founded Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars and has consistently produced award-winnning wines with his own grapes since the 1990 vintage. Mark's family has been in the Seneca Lake grape business since the time of his great grandfather, and since the 1940s has produced vitis labrusca and French-American hybrid grapes for sale to big wine producers like Taylor and Widmer. As the giants began to stumble and estate wineries emerged in the wake of the Farm Winery Act of 1976, Mark took over the family business in 1978 and shifted the emphasis of the family farm to cultivating premium vitis vinifera grapes to supply the budding new wineries. Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars was the logical culmination of generations of grape-growing knowledge and decades of Mark's viticultural experience. The soaring Greek Revival building, which was designed by Ithacan native Bruce Corson, opened on August 30, 1992, and offers visitors unparalleled views of more than 25 miles of water on Seneca Lake. • Lamoreaux Landing Round Rock Vineyard Riesling 2010

    Snoothrank:

Rather earthy smelling with spicy top note over a bed of red fruits and forest spice. A touch viscous up front and showing slightly more than a hint of sweetness. This also packs in some serious acidity making the wine lively and interesting with fresh, sweet apple fruit topped with melon and pomelo flavors that fade into a lemony, slightly pith... Read More

  • Lamoreaux Landing Riesling Seneca Lake Ice Wine 2010

    Snoothrank:

Mineral and dried orange peel greet the nose with a hint of dried apricot backing things up. Fairly dry in the mouth, this shows some lovely richness. The bright acidity remains rather well planted in the apricot, orange marmalade and faintly red berry-topped fruit of the mid-palate. The finish turns back to the mineral side, with pretty good le... • Lamoreaux Landing Riesling Seneca Lake Dry 2008

    Snoothrank:

Pours a bright clear light golden color. Nice aromas of light fruit such as apricots/peaches/apples. Starts off with a nice amount of green apple and peaches. In the middle, more of the same with some citrus undertones. Finishes with more peaches and apples. Has a light body that leaves a light fruit taste on the palate. Read More

    Snoothrank:

Lovely light hand here with floral notes and granite mineral spice tones greeting the nose. Theres some sweet, peachy fruit here along with a faint touch of red fruit. Noticeably sweet in the mouth though held together well with nice, tense acids. The fruit has an edge of bitter apple to it adding to the tension in the mouth. Really lovely mout... Read More

Much deeper on the nose with some rich fruit that leads to a bouquet of stone fruit, honeysuckle and a hint of lemon. This could pair well with a nice spread of cheeses and appetizers Read More
