La Terre are inexpensive wines produced in California that have developed a following through sale in restaurants. The name translates to “the earth,” although these wines are known for their fruity styles of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and White Zinfandel. This is a private label brand with no other known winery information other than it is owned by a Vietnamese wholesaler.

  • Hi, As the title says I'm new. I don't know a lot about wine...yet.  So here;s my first question: Is it true that it's not worth it to buy a wine over 25$ (I'm a student)? Maybe as you progress, the "rules" change a little, but for a beginner, how much would you recommend I spend on wine? Usually I'm getting into the habit of spending 30-35$ per... Read More

  • Easton Zinfandel Amador County 2007

Spicy, sour cherry jam comes to mind as I hold the glass to my nose. It is brambly, ripe and juicy, and just a hint smoky. Acidity, tannins, and alcohol are all in balance. This Zinfandel has a big, lasting mouthfeel. Perfect to serve all alone or, as is often recommended, with barbeque or grilled meats. Either way it is a good value wine that... Read More
