La Terre are inexpensive wines produced in California that have developed a following through sale in restaurants. The name translates to “the earth,” although these wines are known for their fruity styles of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and White Zinfandel. This is a private label brand with no other known winery information other than it is owned by a Vietnamese wholesaler.

La Terre on Snooth

  • When I introduced myself to Snooth, last spring, I mentioned that my brother-in-law had gifted me with a bottle of wine that he'd picked up on one of his fishing expeditions to Baja California--Casa Pedro Domecq 2007 Reserva Real, a blend of Barbera and Ruby Cabernet.  I asked if anybody on Snooth had any experience with this or Mexican wines in... • If you’re interested in 2007 Barolo, you should check out my report, Don't Belive the Hype, which was published earlier this year after I spent two weeks in the region. I found many of the wines to be less than the stellar creations that many critics might want you to believe. I love Barolo and its producers, but the truth is that 2007 is a spot... Read More

  • As many of you know, vellovino has a blog that combines cycling and wine.  And I happen to think the best way to see any wine country is on a bike--whether that takes one day or many.  So we're teaming up to cover the wine territory of the Spanish Vuelta, probably the third most important stage race in cycling.  (TdF and Giro d'Italia being the ...
