La Terre are inexpensive wines produced in California that have developed a following through sale in restaurants. The name translates to “the earth,” although these wines are known for their fruity styles of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and White Zinfandel. This is a private label brand with no other known winery information other than it is owned by a Vietnamese wholesaler.

La Terre on Snooth

  • I get so caught up in work that I often neglect to check in here. I'm apologizing about that!  I'm back afer a few weeks in New Zealand, which sucks up all my time not only during the trip but for the weeks prior and, as it looks, most of the week after my return. Before you ask, new Zealand was great. A young wine industry but one that has made... Read More

  • Domaine de la Janasse Merlot Blend Vin de Pays de la Principauté d'Orange Terre de Bussière 2005

    Snoothrank:

Glorious full, aromatic gentle Rhone with complex hydrocarbon hints and massive fruit. Aged in our 'cellar' for six years and opened for a special occasion, a respectful hush fell around the table as people took their first sips. If you've ever spent too much on a Chateauneuf - look out for this. Read More

  • If you’re interested in 2007 Barolo, you should check out my report, Don't Belive the Hype, which was published earlier this year after I spent two weeks in the region. I found many of the wines to be less than the stellar creations that many critics might want you to believe. I love Barolo and its producers, but the truth is that 2007 is a spot... Read More
