We opened our winery in early 1999 on three acres in the Prosser Wine and Food Park. Our winery building is 15,000 square feet, which includes a 13,500 square foot cellar, tank, warehouse and barrel area as well as a 1,500 square foot tasting room, gift shop and office. We opened our doors as a 3,000 case winery and are now at approximately 35,000 cases. We are predominately a red wine producer with 90% of our production in Lady in Red, our red table blend, as well as our red varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The remaining 10% is in Platinum - a blend of Gewurztraminer and Viognier, as well as Chardonnay and Viognier varietals. Barrel aging plays an important part in our wine production. Our wines are aged one-to-two years in the finest French, American and Hungarian oak barrels and provided bottle aging prior to release. – Description from JelaDragoljevic

  • Kestrel Falcon Series Estate Old Vine Chardonnay 2011

    Snoothrank:

Fairly simple, not complex chardonnay from Washington state. Somewhat on the sweet side, not oaky or buttery and not a lot of minerality or spice either. Some citrus fruit, lemon chiffon and a somewhat short finish. Read More

  • Kestrel "Falcon Series" Syrah Yakima Valley 2007

    Snoothrank:

Kestrel's wines seem to always come off as hard to beat values, no wine more so than this. The wine is soft, with plenty of fruit from red to blue to black. There's a hint of leather and black pepper but not too much. Anyone looking to break into Syrah would be hard pressed to find a better Intro wine. Read More

  • Kestrel Lady In Red 8th Edit Red Blend NV

    Snoothrank:

As a self-proclaimed California wine snob, I was reluctant to try a wine from Washington, but it was recommended to me by an employee at Total Wine & More. I was pleasantly surprised, and the bottle is too cool to throw away :) Read More

  • Kestrel Lady Red Edition Columbia Valley

    Snoothrank:

8th Edition is outrageously good, fades fast. But after the cork it is a delight. Like it better than 9th Edition, fruit vs earth. Read More

  • Kestrel Falcon Series Yakima Valley Merlot 2008

    Snoothrank:

Washington and merlot really do go hand in hand. Kestrel is putting out a lot of solid wines in the $20 range and this one is no exception. Significant but silky smooth tannins support a lovely array of red and black fruits, plus baking cocoa, tobacco leaf and cedarwood. Read More

  • Kestrel Chardonnay Yakima Valley 2009

    Snoothrank:

An excellent value, green apple and lemon zest with just the right amount of oak plus a thin streak of minerality that rounds out the finish quite nicely. Read More

  • Kestrel Falcon Series Estate Old Vine Chardonnay 2009

    Snoothrank:

Very pale in the glass. Nose is very Spartan--anticipating crisp maybe acid on the palate. Sure enough. Very crisp. light bodied. Slightly mineral/chemical aftertaste. It is very refreshing, but I'm having a hard time imagining what kind of food would be a good acompaniment. US$14.99 at Total Wine. Read More
