  • Kent Rasmussen Esoterica Petite Sirah 2008

    Snoothrank:

Very well blalacned. Soft, medium mouth feel that is almost silky. Strong tannins that are round and help develop the palate overtime. The subtle beginning develops slowly into a wonderful bouqet of slight oak, cherry, and blackberry. Read More

  • A couple of news items I was pondering today.First, Robert Parker came out with his ratings for the 2009 Bordeaux vintage. Ever the masochist, I decided to go look at some prices in the marketplace after the ratings were released. • Kent Rasmussen Pinot Noir St. Helena 2006

    Snoothrank:

All Pinot Noirs from the Carneros are excellent. As a frequent consumer of a number of labels from the area, while this one doesn't have as much body as the best of them, it is above average from that region. In fact I'm having one 2006 Rasmussen today. 09/06/2009. Read More

  • Kent Rasmussen Petite Sirah Rutherford Leeds-Chavez Vineyard 1999

    Snoothrank:

Phenomenally delicious. I don't know if I see this getting any better. It's smooth drinking, the tannins have become very integrated, and the fruit explodes with blueberry and blackberry. Read More

  • Kent Rasmussen Pinot Noir St. Helena 2006

    Snoothrank:

Nose of black cherries, mushrooms and vanillia and smoke. The taste could be a little bit more fruity and for my opinion the aftertaste is a little bit to bitter. I definitely enjoyed the wine. It is not overpowered and opend up really nicely, but it could be slightly more powerful in fruit. Read More
