  • My first time with Tignanello, and while this not something I'd buy in bulk it was good to have the experience. Definitely good wine, and curious to try an older vintage.TN: Plum, fig, coffee, vanilla, and black cherries on the nose.Shows good acidity on entry, followed by fresh red and black fruit flavors, coating the mouth well with extract. • Jenn - it should be fun. They have a bunch of great winemakers - John Duval, Dunn, Michel Rolland, Philippe Melka, Agustin Huneeus, etc.  All of the wines are good, some really good, but I think the Riesling is the weakest. I have a number of them and have taken a few to Europe to share with folks who don't know Washington wines. In fact, we wil... Read More

  • John Duval Plexus 2008

    Snoothrank:

Super peppery on the nose with a rather unusual blend of floral and soil aromas along with a hint of India ink forming a base for the blueberry fruit. The oak builds a bit in the glass showing a fair veneer with air. This enters the mouth with excellent focus with a fairly bright, taut style that reveals the perfumes of flowers, green coffee, me... • John Duval Wines Shiraz Barossa Valley Entity 2008

    Snoothrank:

Dark roasty nose with hints of kirsch. Intense flavors of kirsch, creme de cassis, chocolate, spices, sweet liquer. It's thick and dense. It's got hot alcohol and big tannins. I find it a bit heavy handed. 9/24/11 Read More
