  • JD - I don't know that I'd say yuck to all of them. Tasted the Long Shadows lineup this week. It's well made. Maybe not to everyone's taste but good. Randy Dunn is still making the Cab, John Duval the Syrah, and there's Philippe Melka and Michel Rolland with the Merlot. They aren't bad wines and they're better than some more expensive ones from ... Read More

  • I had several of the Long Shadows wines.  The Pirouette was a blend and was pretty good.  The Sequel Syrah (made by John Duval....Penfold's) was good, but neither I thought really worth the price, which was I believe about $50 USD in Washington.  I still have the 2008 Pedestal Merlot (Michel Rolland) and am anticipating it being the best of the ... • Can anyone help me figure out the difference between the Dave Phinney (Orin Swift) Locations F1, F2 and F3 wines. I tried one that was listed as a 2011 vintage. I did not see the bottle and don't know which to look for. Do the 1, 2 and 3 correspond to vintage? Any clarification is appreciated.  Read More

  • My first time with Tignanello, and while this not something I'd buy in bulk it was good to have the experience. Definitely good wine, and curious to try an older vintage.TN: Plum, fig, coffee, vanilla, and black cherries on the nose.Shows good acidity on entry, followed by fresh red and black fruit flavors, coating the mouth well with extract. • Jenn - it should be fun. They have a bunch of great winemakers - John Duval, Dunn, Michel Rolland, Philippe Melka, Agustin Huneeus, etc.  All of the wines are good, some really good, but I think the Riesling is the weakest. I have a number of them and have taken a few to Europe to share with folks who don't know Washington wines. In fact, we wil... Read More
