Read more okay, hopefully you're not all wore out with all the help you've ... try some of his wines from Joh Jos Prum, a German wine legend.His Riesling Spatlese is tremendous. Will have a little more sugar to it, but is very well balanced.From Terry Theise, you can try the Leitz Dragonstone riesling form the Rheingau. A very good inexpensive delight.A bit more serious from Theise, from the Mosel, is the Selbach-Oster Riesling Kabinett.As far as vintages go, you should be seeing the 09s, which are great.If you want to do some reading, some fun reading, you can go to http://www.skurnikwines.com, who imports Theise, and click on his catalog. His catalogs are amazing. He is almost maniacal, but he manages to get across the delight of good wine. He gives you a lot of info, but he can make your mouth water for his wines.He tells you  what makes these wines great, and provides the story of who is behind the winery.Worth a look if you want to learn something.He might be a maniac, and wants to convert you, but like I said, worth a look.       (hide)

  Hello Snoothers!Anyone has any opinion or reccomendations on German Wines? I only know the Affentaler monkeys (They have nice bottles!) and Blue nun. So my knowledge is miserable. Please share your experience! :D

  Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese 2009

  Snoothrank: Starting at $42^.00

  Baked apple with a hint of peach and apricot on the nose. Well balanced with decent acidity. Had it with a Ceasar salad and it actually paired pretty well. I ordered another bottle for the wine cellar.

  Joh Jos Prum Bernkasteler Badstube Spatlese 1990

  5/5, wow still humming after 21yrs and from the shop in which i work-most surprisingly. honeyed lemongrass notes with some cinnamon spice and a rippling balance between complexity, sweetness and acidity. blindingly good wine.

  Joh. Jos. Prüm Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese 2007

  Snoothrank:

  Brilliant minerality on the nose, almost a bit of sea air. Crisp acidity perfectly balanced with the residual sugar. Silky smooth on the palette with that minerality, floral notes, and a touch of apricot. Light and refreshing.
