Nowadays the emphasis is on what's new or flashy. we are decidedly old fashioned. Our ultimate goal is to capturethe essence of the land where the grapes are grown. Spofford Station is a millennium vineyard with hundreds of years of history behind it. For generations the land was used for wheat and pea rotations so the years have deposited rich wealth in fertility. This is our statement in tying the land to our region. Glimpses of the past can be found in the gently, rolling hills of Spofford Station. We are part of the diverse agriculture and history of the valley. This is the root of our quality and individuality. Spofford Station is located on an historic railroad line still in use. Spofford grain elevators store wheat. In the summer months, almost daily THE GRAIN TRAIN comes into the station. The train cars are loaded with soft, white wheat.
