  • As the holiday season is closing in on us and we start to look for interesting wine matches I wonder how many of you are seriously considering Champagne at the dinner table?Yes I do admit that Champagne is often thought of as either an aperitif or maybe desert wine yet I believe it is also the perfect food wine. Living in Champagne has given me ... Read More

  • Champagne Jacquesson Dizy Terres Rouges Rose de Saignee 2007

    Snoothrank:

This Champagne is truly amazing!!!! It is a red wine with bubbles. The colour stuns, as does the nose of fresh berries (strawberry, raspberry and even a little red current). On the palate this is definitely a wine - totally reminiscent of Pinot Noir, with even a little forest floor and coriander seed in the long finish Read More

  • Jacquesson et Fils Cuvee 734

    Snoothrank:

Tasted March 2012The nose is pleasant, pineapple, white peach and golden delicious apples, hints of toasted hazelnuts, acacia flowers and orange zest. In the mouth it is creamy, fresh and mineral, return the golden apple and toasted notes, close to the typical and delicate citrus notes.Assaggiato marzo 2012Al naso è piacevolissimo, ananas, pesca... • Jacquesson Dizy Rosé 'Terres Rouges' Brut 2007

    Snoothrank:

Good light yellow color recalling the Cuvee 731. Similar buttery toast notes on the nose and also upon entry; good mousse with continuous effervescence for over 10 minutes. Wonderfully paired with Easter turkey, and to be recommended - particularly if you can find a good discount in these recessionary times! Read More

  • Just wanted to wish all you fellow Snoothians a Happy Easter and am interested to know what you've been eating and drinking.  You'll have to wait a week for my answers on this one as we are working this weekend so are delaying family celebrations until next week. In the meantime, have you been treating yourselves?Best wishesCathy   Read More

  • Champagne Jacquesson & Fils Brut Rosé NV

    Snoothrank:

Very good, fine mousse upon pouring. Color of ripe barley. The texture upon entry is gentle and pleasing; no soda-like coarseness to be had here. Flavor is toast and melted butter with just a touch of nutmeg. After 5 minutes in the glass, the wine continues to effervesce nicely. A well-made NV Champagne which I can whole-heartedly recommend.
