J. SCOTT CELLARS is a small boutique wine producer that features wines of the Pacific Northwest. Wine is a form of consumable art, where no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Rather, each wine is a "snap-shot" of the growing season, mixed with specific varietal characteristics unique to each grape and a small amount of human intervention. Each of our wines represents a singular artistic expression of the winemaker. – Description from Alejandro

  • I love N. Rhone Syrah.  It's my favorite red wine in France.  But the acreage of the region is so small and the area that provide its best wines even smaller, that prices have hit the roof.  Sure, there are a few St. Josephs and Crozes-Hermitages that come in around $25, but those are either made for earlier drinking and a lot less thrilling wit... • J. Scott Cellars Columbia Valley Roussanne 2011

    Snoothrank:

Really nice Roussanne from Eugene OR. Tangerine, apricot, subtle hints of white pepper and a medium to long finish. Not overly complex but enough layers to be quite interesting. Read More

  • Rendez-Vous Grenache Rose Clarksburg 2011

    Snoothrank:

The wine is a nice peach color in the glass, not a pure pink but with more of an orange tint to it. The nose has wonderful notes of grass, mild citrus and strawberry notes and some lovely floral overtones. The taste is quite interesting, with your typical bright citrus notes, some strawberries, and then toward the end, out of nowhere there is ... Read More

  • With regards to JTRYKA, looks like we weren't the only ones visiting the Northwest wine country recently. We traveled to Portland OR, to visit our son for the week of the fourth of July but he was at a music festival the first weekend we're here so what to do? How about a little trip south into wine country! Last time we were here we stomped aro... • Well it's official. I'll be going to Napa from July 6th through the 10th for my first official vacation for over three years. Got a sweet room at a place in St. Helena and I'm looking for recommendations of what the best places are to taste. I plan on spending at least two days in the Valley tasting, with a day trip out to Santa Cruz mountain... Read More
