Founded in 1972, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines crafts an array of acclaimed wines from estate vineyards in Monterey County, Paso Robles and Napa Valley. From this world-class palette of fruit, J. Lohr produces three tiers of award-winning wines – J. Lohr Estates, J. Lohr Vineyard Series and J. Lohr Cuvée Series. Selecting Monterey County’s Arroyo Seco appellation for his original vineyard, Jerry planted his first 280 acres of grapes beginning in 1972. Ideally suited for cool-climate winegrowing, these vineyards have become an acclaimed source for outstanding Chardonnay, Riesling, Valdiguié and Pinot Noir. At the heart of J. Lohr’s renowned red wine program are its 2,000 acres of estate vineyards in Paso Robles. Featuring warm, sunny days, cool nights and diverse soils, these vineyards have proven ideal for cultivating a flavorful array of grapes including voluptuous and complex Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc along with Syrah and Zinfandel.

  • J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay 2012

    Snoothrank:

Nearly sparkling with a hint of sweetness, but overall on the dry side. Lemon lime fizz, brass doorknobs, and apricot spice on the palate. At only 12% alcohol, it's decent for a Wednesday evening. Read More

  • Hello everyone, As my first contribution to the forum I wanted to touch upon something that excites the hell out of me and get a little help from the community. As a blogger who works with, drinks and loves wine as a passion it always interests me to learn new things. I tried the 2007 1/2 bottle and was impressed. Learned this "Merlot" is actually a "Bordeaux Blend." I'd like to know the percentages of Merlot, Cab. Sauv., Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cab. Franc which made this vintage. Read More

  • I get it. Not all of us have the time to research wine. Diving into the details to find that perfect bottle. No, for many of us buying wine this time of year is just something we have to do. It’s not that you don’t love wine, it’s simply that there isn’t the time, or the impetus to spend inordinate amounts of time deciding, and searching for wha... Read More

  • Not only is Cabernet Sauvignon the most popular red wine, it’s also one that is best suited to gift giving. It’s a wine that everyone knows and understands. Big, rich and bold, it’s the archetype of red wines that is perfect for the cooler months that lie ahead. While Cabernet does get a bit of a bad rap as being ubiquitous, that doesn’t mean th... • The Wines are fine. Paso Robles tasting room experience was great. However, Matt one of your servers in San Jose is the biggest dismissive jerk to ever pour Wine. What a shame. Really, if he was associated with anything I ever was personally involved in I would fire him. What a dismissive Clown.
