Founded in 1972, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines crafts an array of acclaimed wines from estate vineyards in Monterey County, Paso Robles and Napa Valley. From this world-class palette of fruit, J. Lohr produces three tiers of award-winning wines – J. Lohr Estates, J. Lohr Vineyard Series and J. Lohr Cuvée Series. Selecting Monterey County’s Arroyo Seco appellation for his original vineyard, Jerry planted his first 280 acres of grapes beginning in 1972. Ideally suited for cool-climate winegrowing, these vineyards have become an acclaimed source for outstanding Chardonnay, Riesling, Valdiguié and Pinot Noir. At the heart of J. Lohr’s renowned red wine program are its 2,000 acres of estate vineyards in Paso Robles. Featuring warm, sunny days, cool nights and diverse soils, these vineyards have proven ideal for cultivating a flavorful array of grapes including voluptuous and complex Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc along with Syrah and Zinfandel.

  • J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay 2015

This is an amazing chard for the price, or any price. It is rich but light, balanced acidity, beautiful complex oak, a great glass to drink for sheer pleasure or to pair with almost any food. It is strong enough to stand up to rich red meat, and balanced enough to make a delicate grilled orata come to life. Reliable every year, Lohr is a bargain... Read More

  • Cypress Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Well balanced. Not overly tannic but a bit of a minerality. Representative of the region. Couldn't be happier with this, inclusive of the price. Read More

  • J Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay Case of 6 Bottles 2013

The 2013 Riverstone is quite underwhelming. Very little fruit is to be found, the nose is mostly oak, dilute tasting. Good acid though. Years ago, J. Lohr had some really nice Riverstone Chards. Something has changed here. My rating-- 72. Read More

  • J. Lohr Estates Falcon's Perch Pinot Noir 2011

Dark and distinguished color in the glass. Light purple fruits break apart on the palate, scattering a strawberry pink-fruit essence. Lots of heat on the front and back palate with a distinct overlay of blackberry and cherry notes. Read More

    Wine review by Claudia Angelillo

  • The Wines are fine. Paso Robles tasting room experience was great. However, Matt one of your servers in San Jose is the biggest dismissive jerk to ever pour Wine. What a shame. Really, if he was associated with anything I ever was personally involved in I would fire him. What a dismissive Clown.
