Il Palazzone
Il Palazzone is extremely small, making under 1.000 cases of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG with the utmost focus on quality. The vineyards are located in three different subzones of Montalcino, thereby bringing to each bottle different aspects of Montalcino's renowned terroir. Agricoltura responsabile and precision viticulture in the vineyards mean low yields, healthy fruit and farming without the use of chemical pesticides. Grapes are hand picked at harvest and the estate has been fermenting in wood since the 2011 vintage. All Brunellos spend over 40 months aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, and the wines are marked by distinct balance, elegance and austerity.

Ok Dan, my one follower, I hope I haven't breached some snooth etiquette by reviewing by own wine (and giving it top marks) but I happened to be quaffing it this evening. 2004, as you no doubt know, is the first 5 star vintage since 1997 and it's truly special.. Not in the US yet, I'll keep you posted!
