Il Molino di Grace (the "windmill" of Grace) is located just south of Panzano-in-Chianti in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region. All of our wines are estate-bottled, and estate-grown using only sustainable growing and wine-making methods. For us, the wine has to be an expression of the place, the varietal(s) and the vintage - and we believe very strongly that our wines do consistently reflect this philosophy. As such, Sangiovese is dominant in five of the six wines we make. We are very proud that in 2004 we were awarded the prestigious "Emerging Winery of the Year" by Gambero Rosso, and one of our wines has achieved Tre Bicchieri in five of the last six years. Additionally, il Molino di Grace was named to Wine and Spirits magazine's "Top 100 Wineries in the world" list in two of the past four years. But mostly, we are proud of our wines and the response they have received from people all over the world. Please feel free to drop us a note or to stop by the winery (we built it - and we like to show it off) if your travels take you to Tuscany.

  • Il Molino di Grace Chianti Classico 2005

    Snoothrank:

This is quite herbal on the nose with a meaty, gamy, leathery edge to the dark fruit that carries some nuanced coffee and almond notes with it. Round and supple in the mouth, this is showing excellent signs of early maturity. Theres still a nice core of fruit here, wild cherry and strawberry over some lichen covered rock tones, but the edges hav... Read More

  • Il Molino di Grace Chianti Classico 2005

    Snoothrank:

Definitely one of those prime examples of a wine that tastes way different than it smells. Which is very fortunate because the barnyard on the nose is pretty strong. But on the palate this transforms to rich fruit, thyme and a little gaminess, all very pleasant. Read More

so earthy that it's like drinking from the dirt, but in a good way. subtly sweet going down & ever-so-gently acidic on the finish. delivers the drinker to a clear mind & body high. Read More

  • Il Molino di Grace Toscana Gratius 2004

    Snoothrank:

At the pinnacle of Frank Grace and Gerhard Hirmer's creativity is this stunning 2004 Gratius (3 glasses in the Gambero Rosso's "Vini d'Italia" annual wine guide), a Sangiovese "in purezza" (pure Sangiovese) Super Tuscan. Youll find an elegant bouquet of ripe red and dark fruits like black cherry, coffee and a touch of cocoa powder, with firm tan... Read More
