Icardi is a winery that was established in 1914 in Castiglione Tinella on the boundary of Langa and Monferrato in Piedmont, Italy. The estate only grew grapes that were sourced to other producers, but began producing their own wines in the 1960s. Claudio Icardi is now the principal winemaker. Grapes are sourced from the estate as well as the surrounding region. The wines are cultivated organically, with 10 hectares dedicated to biodynamic farming. The range covers the traditional styles of Piedmont, including Barolo, Barbaresco, Brachetto, Moscato d’Asti, Grignolino, Monferrato Bianco, Dolcetto, Cortese and table wines.

  • Icardi Barolo Parej Barolo 2003

    Snoothrank:

Had the 2003 vintage on 21 April, 2012 with chicken a`la Jamie Oliver. The wine has been in my cellar since 2007, so some 5 years. Surprisingly mild and well balanced, on the nose it displays light blue berries, subtle vanilla, some light oak and a bit more leather. The palate is surprisingly light and even a bit short. However, it shows great b... Read More

  • Icardi Cortese Piemonte DOC l'Aurora 2007

    Snoothrank:

Good fruit, good acid. Peach and pineapple with some mineral notes. Great food wine as well. Some of the more subtle notes came out with a mache, kohlrabi, & preserved lemon salad with Meyer lemon vinaigrette. Enough body and acid to pair nicely with Parmigiano-Reggiano risotto. Great value too. Read More
