Situated deep in the heart of the gently rolling hills of Napa, Carneros, Hudson Vineyards produces grapes of distinction from uniquely situated sites. In addition to being the source of our Hudson Vineyards’ wines, grapes are sold to 32 wineries, some of which produce wines that proudly bear the ‘Hudson Vineyards’ designation. Four white varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier and Roussanne) and seven red varieties (Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Petit Sirah and Barbera) are produced from these soils. – Description from Michelle N

  • According to a YouGov poll, forty-one percent of Americans enjoy wine with Thanksgiving dinner. It's no wonder we spend so much time planning our drink menus. Turkey Day wines have been discussed on Snooth at length over the past ten years. Tastes have evolved to include more than just the mainstays. Traditions have been shattered, and most meal... • Esteemed wine critics like Robert Parker and Antonio Galloni employ gender-positive terms in their tasting notes without compunction. Masculine wines are commonly associated with structure and power, while feminine wines can be perceived as delicate and thin. • A new year provides the perfect opportunity to try new things, but how far will you go?  Many wine drinkers cling to familiar grape varieties or settle for what’s in easy reach. Don’t miss out, wine lover. There are between 5,000 and 10,000 varieties of Vitis Vinifera, the plant species responsible for nearly all wine grapes, planted around the ... Read More

  • I love N. Rhone Syrah.  It's my favorite red wine in France.  But the acreage of the region is so small and the area that provide its best wines even smaller, that prices have hit the roof.  Sure, there are a few St. Josephs and Crozes-Hermitages that come in around $25, but those are either made for earlier drinking and a lot less thrilling wit...
