Situated deep in the heart of the gently rolling hills of Napa, Carneros, Hudson Vineyards produces grapes of distinction from uniquely situated sites. In addition to being the source of our Hudson Vineyards’ wines, grapes are sold to 32 wineries, some of which produce wines that proudly bear the ‘Hudson Vineyards’ designation. Four white varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier and Roussanne) and seven red varieties (Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Petit Sirah and Barbera) are produced from these soils. – Description from Michelle N

  • I love N. Rhone Syrah.  It's my favorite red wine in France.  But the acreage of the region is so small and the area that provide its best wines even smaller, that prices have hit the roof.  Sure, there are a few St. Josephs and Crozes-Hermitages that come in around $25, but those are either made for earlier drinking and a lot less thrilling wit... • Carnivores and grillers, a few reasons to love Syrah: it’s a fantastic wine for pairing with any roasted meats, especially red meats like beef and lamb, as well as wild game. It is often peppery and sometimes smoky, with a roasted fruit and/or roasted meat flavor profile that makes it a fine accompaniment to anything barbecued or grilled (even, ... Read More
