The Hudson-Chatham Winery is the dream of Carlo and Dominique DeVito, both publishing professionals who have long shared a love of wine. This exciting new winery, which specializes in small hand-made batches of wine, is dedicated to the richness of the Hudson River Valley, particularly its wine, agriculture, literature, art, history, and many other attractions that make it a rich and special region. The Hudson-Chatham Winery, located between the historic towns of Hudson and Chatham, is the first winery in Columbia County. As well as creating fine artisanal wines, the DeVito family (including two dogs), and many valued friends, have worked hard restoring the winery’s grounds and its prestigious circa 1780 farmhouse. The winery features hand-crafted wines, cheeses and desserts, and includes vineyard tours and a gazebo with scenic views. – Description from Alejandro

  • Hudson-Chatham Chelois Casscles Vineyards 2010

Very distinct sweet strawberry jam tones greet the nose joined by smoky top notes and a touch of minerality. Lightly sweet on entry, this is round and lush with soft tannins and finely integrated acidity. The fruit is fairly fresh with blueberry tones complimenting the wild strawberry base. Nice and lively on the palate, this finishes with some ... Read More

  • Hudson Chatham Empire Red Reserve 2008

Astringent and wiry on the nose though notes of tobacco, wood smoke, cocoa, a touch of game and some floral aromas emerge with air, lending this a distinctly Syrah-like profile. A touch soft in the mouth, this medium-bodied wine shows a nice, polished style with flavors of Italian plums, iron, woodsy spice and cranberries on the mid-plate yieldi... Read More

  • Hudson-Chatham Seyval Blanc Hudson River 2010

A little toasty on the nose with some licorice and hawthorn aromas over modest melon and pear fruit. This is very bright with huge acids up front lending this a really juicy feel. Light-bodied and fresh, this delivers clear, clean flavors of watermelon rind, lime and slightly pineapple-like fruit flavors. The finish is refreshing in a very limea... Read More

I am just starting to try different wines. I live in Hudson NY and this is from our local winery. I love this wine. At first it was a little surprising the taste of it, but then you realize that you are tasting concord grapes, and you "get" it. It is a sweet delicious wine and goes down easy. Read More

  • Hi, I was at a Fall Festival today where they had a wine tasting tent with about 8 NY wineries present. Hudson-Chatham Winery had a New York Malbec. They said the grapes are grown on Long Island. I found it a bit too bitter for my taste, but I'm only just getting used to some of the Malbecs coming out of South America and I was surprised to find... Read More
