Hanna has evolved from a winery dependent primarily on outside growers, to a 100% estate winery, with 252 acres of planted vineyards in three of Sonoma County's finest appellations. Our own vineyards allow us to control every aspect of grape growing, and we feel our wine quality has improved immeasurably. Alexander Valley Red Ranch We affectionately call this our "Red Ranch" as it is currently planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. When we first bought the ranch in 1985, it was planted in large part to Chardonnay and French Colombard. We find the red loam soils and warm climate to be ideal for the red Bordeaux varieties. With gently sloping blocks and terraced hillsides, this 100 acre ranch is also home to a tasting room with panoramic views. The Mediterranean style tasting room sits atop a knoll overlooking our "Red Ranch" vineyard and Alexander Valley. A stunning wrap-around veranda is the perfect place to enjoy the view while sipping our award winning wines. The vineyard is home to our Read more »

  • Hanna Winery Merlot Alexander Valley 2005

This wine was included in the latest wine club shipment from Hanna. The wine is nice but not great. It starts with a good aroma, but on first taste it is a little dry for a merlot and has an essence of spice, unusual for a merlot. However as the wine decanted it did not improve, but actually seemed to weaken and became more of just an average... Read More

  • Hanna Bismark Mountain Vineyard 2004

A very nice cabernet, fruity and a bit dry, but shows a little spice like a zin. We paired it with some chicken in puffed pastry and it was a great hit. Not a long after taste, very clean but very good. Read More

A great wine for a hot summer day, like we are having now. The citrus flavor is very prominent but gives it a great taste. We had it with some grilled prawns and it paired outstanding. Buy this one for the summer it is great/ Read More

  • Hanna Syrah Sonoma Valley Bismark Mountain Vineyard 2000

I was lucky to find this for $20, so for the price, it was excellent. Notes of black fruit, spice, balanced with medium tannins. So nicely aged that it doesn't need a meal with it. Just sit around and enjoy. Read More

  • Hanna Winery Merlot Alexander Valley 2002

As my friend said, it tastes "diluted". Too light for my taste, it's overly fruity and weak. No complexity, no oak, pepper, chocolate, or length in finish. A disappointment... Read More

  • Hanna Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

A very nice wine, excellent aroma and a great taste which was slightly spicy but no too much. I bought it at CostCo for $22.99 so it a great wine but not one that I would be able to afford on a daily basis ;-) Read More

  • Hanna Bismrk Cabernet 1998

One of my all time favourites, this wine WAS my date. The softest, supplest, most feminine offering that I've ever had from this grape. Dark fruit up front. Nice leather habana maduro on the mid, a long warm finish supplicating for more time together. My date was definitely jealous of this wine. Read More
