Read moreI am a fan of German Rieslings and have always sought an American Riesling that could compare to the good Mosel Rieslings. I have found one in this wine. The color is a light golden yellow. The nose is a mixture of peaches and grapefruit. It is, thank goodness, a sweet Riesling, unlike the dry Rieslings that are produced in Napa. The taste is like the nose, a mixure of peaches and grapefruit. The acid is not as strong as in a Mosel, but this is easily my most favorite American Riesling.    (hide)

  Smooth with low tanines. A beautiful wine to go with meats such as lamb and french roast. One of my personal favorites.

Read moreThis Napa pinot is classic new world style, with cherry syrup notes on the nose, and smooth fruits on the tongue. There were hints of spicy guacamole hiding in there as well, giving the wine some character. But it lacked any of the minerality that I love in pinots, no chalk or slate (hence the low rating based on my tastes, but others very well my really like this wine for good reason). The finish has some peppery acidity, which although not overpowering, seem out of place considering the nose and mouth feel of this otherwise smooth fruit driven wine.    (hide)
