This wine has apple on the nose. Not granny smith like a lot of the German rieslings do but more like Red Delicious. There is also a floral note and a touch of cinnamon. Very rich and concentrated fruit and has great aging potential. It was still evolving on the third day. If you like columbia crest reserve wines then you will like this as Goose Ridge furnishes about 80% of their grapes. I would rate it better than the 2006 Columbia Crest Reserve Syrah but its close.
