A couple of ways to look at this pre-Christmas offer:1) why spend any money on Napa reds when you can get these bottles, aged for you already, at these prices?2) you can put together your own Produttori del Barbaresco verticals that'd knock the socks off the Valkyrie serving wenches pouring at the tables in Valhalla. Barbaresco from the Big Cel... Read More

Hi everybody I'm a small store owner at the edge of the rust belt, my customers rarely spend over $20 for a bottle, and I am looking to improve my selection a bit beyond what is here now. If you have a minute to help a guy out let me know what you think are the best wines that usually sell for $20 or less. Thanks ! Read More

Had a $10 Roero Arneis from Giacosa Fratelli a few nights ago--totally delicious even when I wasn't planning on drinking wine--and tonight I had a I Sodi del Paretaio Chianti that I paid 11.50 for that was spot on, actually more typcial of good Chianti than a Castellar... Okay, SIWBM bites the dust. Bought a half case of Stonestreet's 2012 Cab--just seemed like a good bottle to make gifts and to have around for company. Just the entry level bottle. 94 from RP, but the description actually sounded pretty good, so I didn't feel too put off by that. Actually, I don't totally share his CS taste, but if the thinks... Perhaps we could use a place to share recent purchases...Here are some '12 Burlotto Langhe Nebbiolo, which came highly recommended from a trusted friend who just got back from a month in Italy. I'm not seeing many available in the States quite yet, but was happy to find these locally. Read More

Here’s an article that had a slim chance of being written. Pull together a case of wine from a vintage that is deemed passable at best and drink them at 33 years of age.
