Welcome to the website of Gemstone Vineyard, a small, family-owned grape grower and producer of estate wines. Though we do make a minute quantity of Chardonnay, our focus is on crafting richly textured red wines from Bordeaux varietals grown on our 16 acre hillside property in the Yountville appellation of Napa Valley. Our wines are quite limited. Most are sold to members of our allocation list, which you can request to join here, while the rest can be found on the wine lists of great restaurants through the country. "I hope people discover these great wines made by winemaking consultant Philippe Melka... These are stunning wines and all promise long life. The flagship wine is their Gemstone Proprietary Red, which is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, and the other wine, Facets, usually a rather Bordeaux-styled blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, but with significant proportions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot." – Description from JasminaDragoljevic

  • My first time with Tignanello, and while this not something I'd buy in bulk it was good to have the experience. Definitely good wine, and curious to try an older vintage.TN: Plum, fig, coffee, vanilla, and black cherries on the nose.Shows good acidity on entry, followed by fresh red and black fruit flavors, coating the mouth well with extract. • Livingston Moffett Red Bordeaux Blend Yountville Gemstone Vineyard 2001

Very dark with no light coming through. Big nose--oak, cassis. Very oaky in the mouth, some tobacco flavor, not a lot fo fruit, but wow, this wine is sour. I sure hope it gets better. Maybe i have an aftertaste from the cinnamon roll I had, earlier. It's going to get a pretty low rating, right now. If it improves later, I'll update this re... Read More
