Garrison Creek Cellars is situated along the Washington/Oregon border on the fringes of Walla Walla (Washington side). David March, winemaker, greets visitors on the path leading into "the barn". The barn is modeled after a turn of the century (20th) barn that is actually in Oregon (I believe; ask about the story of the place and look for the image of the barn that inspired this wonderful structure, once you get inside). Inside the barn, you'll be treated to wonderful, exclusive barrel tastings and plenty of good conversation (especially if you like to talk about the character of the many varietals David is working with, or the truly impressive design of the the barn - really more of a shrine to wine if you ask me), and some fine bites to eat while you taste, too. Visits are by appointment only, but any visit to Walla Walla would be absolutely incomplete without stopping here.
