Our wines are created in an ancient structure, which surrounds an interior garden. Fermentation takes place in a wide area with huge windows, in barrels of French Oak which of 50 to 70 hectoliters and the temperature of the musts can be controlled. In the adjacent area, steels containers are used for the lactic fermentation and for the last phase of aging wines. The aging is done in two brick vaulted cellars: one is only partly underground which has thermal variations particularly adapted for stabilizing the wines, housing the wines to be consumed when young (Pelaverga, Dolcetto and Barbera.), the other cellar is totally underground and has 80% humidity with a constant temperature, used for the delicate phase of aging in wooden caskets for the most important wines like our Barolo. After bottling, the wines complete the aging process and the bottles are piled for settling, before labeling and packaging. – Description from dvoristanac

  • G.B. Burlotto Barolo Vigneto Monvigliero 2010

    Snoothrank:

Cinnamon, strawberry, along with hints of sage and olive come together on the classic Monvigliero nose. Bright and rich, this powers through the palate, with a great mass on entry that dissolves elegantly on the palate. The tannins here are like the big bang, constant acceleration away from each other making the palate larger and yet lighter a... Read More

  • Burlotto Barolo Acclivi 2010

    Snoothrank:

Smoke, Incense, olive wood, a deep black fruit extract, and black cherry fruit emerge on the nose. This is a big wine for acclivi, with deep fruit, lovely cherry skin notes and incense in the mouth, over a fine minerality, with ripe tannins. The deep fruit is both a little inky a little nutty but this remains finely balanced through the long, el... Read More

    Snoothrank:

Spends a few months in botte Plum skins, shoe black, and a floral extract come together on the nose. Onentry this offers a huge punch of elegant, fresh pure and simple fruit that makes this seem to be a bit on the fruity side with supple small ripe tannins, black plum fruit and a little edge of black raspberry. • The expected price ranges quoted are for the lot-quantity of bottles mentioned, as with any auction. For popular bottles, bids may break through the forecast ceiling, however. Certainly has happened a lot in recent years for Bordeaux and Burgundy lots as Chinese and similar nouveau-riche excess monies have focused on a narrow range of 'prestige'... Read More

  • This is always one of the most difficult things I have to do each year. Sit down and try to figure out who will Snooth’s Winery of the year be?I'm never going to please everybody, or most  of the people even, but I try and select someone, or some winery that does two things. The first is to produce wines that I really like. Ha! Sorry about that ... Read More
