Our wines are created in an ancient structure, which surrounds an interior garden. Fermentation takes place in a wide area with huge windows, in barrels of French Oak which of 50 to 70 hectoliters and the temperature of the musts can be controlled. In the adjacent area, steels containers are used for the lactic fermentation and for the last phase of aging wines. The aging is done in two brick vaulted cellars: one is only partly underground which has thermal variations particularly adapted for stabilizing the wines, housing the wines to be consumed when young (Pelaverga, Dolcetto and Barbera.), the other cellar is totally underground and has 80% humidity with a constant temperature, used for the delicate phase of aging in wooden caskets for the most important wines like our Barolo. After bottling, the wines complete the aging process and the bottles are piled for settling, before labeling and packaging. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Burlotto G.B. Barbera d'Alba 2010

    Snoothrank:

lovely violet color with an initial nose of cherries. Quite vinous at the beginning but opened up with secondary savory aromas of onions, herbs and dusty earth. Full and fresh in the mouth... a very interesting Barbera! Read More

  • Burlotto G.B. Barbera d'Alba 2010

    Snoothrank:

This is really aromatic with sour plum, charcoal earth, dusty earth, a little cedar, wild raspberry, licorice, and forest floor aromas. Totally impressive on the nose and brilliantly open and clear on the palate with a lovely fruit that shows a roundness to the edges but no loss of tension. The acidity is bright yet integrated, offering good cut... Read More

  • Burlotto G.B. Comm. Barolo 2008

    Snoothrank:

Lovely herbal and balsamic top notes over wild raspberry fruit with hints of dusty earth and rose stem on this perfumed nose. This is wonderfully bright and tense on entry with juicy fruit that shows lovely purity and finesse. Transparent up front with a nice load of vivid raspberry fruit. Amarena cherry on the back end is accented by a hint of ... Read More

  • Burlotto G.B. Barolo Acclivi 2008

    Snoothrank:

This is really soil-driven on the nose and turns quite sweet, with finessed raspberry fruit accented by hints of rose petal, a little quinine, red apple skin and bit of herb. In the mouth, this is round and very lively on the mid-palate. Vertical acids, ripe tannins and a savory core of woodsy herb notes support woodsy red currant fruit. This th... Read More

  • Burlotto G.B. Barolo Vigneto Cannubi 2008

    Snoothrank:

This exhibits a classic nose featuring cherries in alcohol with hints of cocoa, spices, rose petal, balsamic, ash and roasted herb notes. On entry, this is tense, nervy and taut with fine red cherry fruit, plenty of ripe tannins and good supporting acids lending great freshness. This is classic, lean Cannubi with crisp tannins on the finish, low... Read More

  • Barolo Vigneto Monvigliero 2008

    Snoothrank:

Very herbal on the nose with tapenade aromas that are more thyme-driven than olive at the moment, all accented by a dusting of cinnamon and really lovely strawberry fruit. This could be called lush if it wasnt so nervy, with juicy acidity and super fine tannins supporting wonderfully crisp strawberry fruit. Topped with a hint of truffle, some sp... Read More

  • Burlotto G.B. Dolcetto d'Alba 2009

    Snoothrank:

As I sat and sniffed around the edges of this glass, it reminded me of everything I love about Italian wine. The first impression was of blackberry jam and brioche, but with time in the glass, the slightest hint of barnyard and earth added dimensions that I had at first not noticed. It was easy on the palate, with perfect balance and flavors of ... Read More
