It’s getting to be that time of year when everything seems to be ... ... favorite organic wines from Frey Vineyards, but feel free to pair as you like. At a wine tasting in Sicily, we sampled wines without food and then paired with various foods and I have to say that the difference was profound. I love how these pairings complement the flavo... We hear a lot of talk about organic and biodynamic wine but do we understand ... ... At a recent visit to Frey Vineyards, I saw how they recycle all of their grape pumice back into the vineyard after it is composted with other organic ingredients including manure, old hay, and garden waste. OK, I know it never was great, but their bottles did have corks. Maybe I am the only person who feels a sense of loss of Almaden.) Another of the old abused names is ... Read More

This cabernet is so earthy. it has depth and structure and a long finish. There is a marked difference with mountain cabs. The tannins are more pronounced but do become approachable. I find less fruit and more mineral aspects plus a dustyness. Read More
