Franzia is a wine brand known for its “WineTap” box wines, out of the Yosemite area of California. The brand is named for Teresa Franzia, who founded the winery in 1906. The box wines began in the 1970s and were an instant success. Franzia on Snooth

  • Good distinction. If someone else pours, I may drink a lot of stuff I ... ... grown in that region. Fred Franzia was famous for that. He had brands called Napa Ridge, Rutherford Winery, etc., that used grapes from hundreds of miles away. Some brands were allowed to do that and when rules tightened, they were grandfathered in but in 2000 the la... Read More

  • Ok, new year and time for a new topic of discussion.  Just yesterday I opened this Pinot Noir from California that initially sounded promising.  First  - it was given to Sandra as a retirement gift so it was free.  Second - a Pinot Noir bottled in St. Helena CA, so it has to be decent, right? and Third - a nice looking label.  Well, this 2014 Me... • Franzia Zinfandel California White Zinfandel 2003

I like this wine because I can pair it with sweet foods. I also like that it's not too strong and I can drink it with most dinners. It stays fresh and lasts longer than most bottled wines. I was surprised to find out that I liked a boxed wine since I had not had good experiences with other boxed wines. Read More

Had an alcoholic over for some pizza last night. Was worried my franzia box wine wouldn't quench this drunks thirst. But he loved it and after drinking half the box . He got the spins and threw up all over. Said he couldn't remember the last time he had gotten so fucked up. P.s. He said it tasted the same coming up as going down. Read More

  • Greetings Shugga1, I'm green as grass on wines but have already found some ... saying this from others, but Franzia which is a very popular box wine, and inexpensive. So far I have tried the Franzia Sangria  which has a delicate bouquet and has a decent flavor. These folks have been making wine for over 100 yrs. I guess experience does count, ... Read More

  • Franzia needs to go back to the original spigot on their box wines. The new one without a spigot is too hard to control the flow, and is too close to the box to get the glass under it well. We purchase a couple of cases a month. I might swich to another box wine.

  • Do you produce almond champaigne or could you refer another brand closest to what you used to produce?
