We have been producing estate wines since 1880, the year in which the present-day winery was established. A family-run estate, it was handed down through the generations to the first-born son Franz Haas. Through the years and the constant commitment of its owners and employees, this wine making estate has evolved into today's innovative winery. We vinify grapes from 50 hectares of vineyards, of which 28 hectares are estate-grown or rented, while the balance comes from vine growers with plots in particularly vocated microareas.

  • Franz Haas Pinot Grigio 2009

    Snoothrank:

Light, crisp, and refreshing with fruit and a honeydew component. I use this wine in tastings on a regular basis and receive great responses. Sweet wine lovers are surprised they enjoy this wine which I primarily attribute to the honeydew. Based on the quality and $10/btl, I always stocks a few bottles in my own home! Read More

  • All my wife and I drink -- the only wines we really enjoy -- are FRENCH Pinots and Beaujolais. However, we are off to Italy in the Summer and don't want to alienate the Italians by ordering French Wine. We also think it would be fun to do as the Italians do while in Italy. So, I would like to start experimenting now with Italian wines -- see if... Read More
