Bodegas Museum Real is a wine produced in the Cigales region of Spain, just north of Ribero del Duero. The vineyard was stumbled upon by Grupo Baron de Ley in the late 1990s as they were searching for quality growing regions outside of Ribero del Duero. What they found was an astonishing 100+ acres of old vine Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo), ranging between 60 and 100+ years old. These low yield vines produce amazing, balanced and concentrated fruit, helped along by dramatic diurnal temperature differences that even out grape ripening. The result is a powerful, structured wine with great depth and longevity.

  • This is just a teaser to start, as I only arrived home a few hours ago after about nine days in Cuba without Internet access.  That was tough, but you know what was tougher?  The lack of quality wine.  In fact, there was a lack of most everything we are used to in the USA, but I'll elaborate on that later - manana as they say in Cuba.  First thi... Snoothrank:

Elegant strawberry aromas with kiwi and white grape. Flavors are bright and acidic, more strawberry, a hint of cherry, watermelon rind, red licorice and a touch of orange marmalade. The long finish has more cherries and raspberries and finishes off quite tart. Read More

  • Hey everyone, what are some of your favorite 'everyday' or M-F types of wines to accompany a regular dinner?  I personally have enjoyed the Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, and I usually pick it up from Total Wines out here in Virginia.  This is one of those fruit-forward cabs that isn't too complex for me to appreciate, and it usually cost...
