Bodega Faustino was built in 1968 but wine production under the Faustino name began long before that when, in 1861, Eleutorio Martinez Arzok purchased a vineyard in Oyon, Spain.  The vineyard stayed in the family and bottling begin in 1930 by Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz.

Bodega Faustino sits on a little over 1,500 acres across the municipalities of Laguardia, Logrono, Mendavia, and Oyon in Northeastern Spain.  By combining local climate and conditions with the tradition and experience of winemakers, Faustino wines are recognized and celebrated all over the world.

Stainless steel tanks and state-of-the-art technologies are combined with traditional processes to create the unique Faustino wines that, after being aged in either American or French Oak, continue to be celebrated.

Meaning after a 45 minute decant and one glass down the second glass was most excellent. Interesting blend although very tasty. We've had a few bottles of their 2010 which we liked ... Read More

  • Bodegas Faustino I Gran Reserva Rioja Doca 2001

Bodegas Faustino makes a wonderful Grand Reserve Rioja for the price. This wine, somewhat traditional in structure and preparation has a whiff of smoke and oak on the nose brightened by lively sweet cherry. There are also notes of cedar, wine-dipped cigar and old leather; on the palate the Tempranillo comes through in spades with rich cherry a... Read More

The Rioja ('04 Faustino Gran Reserva, Decanter's 2013 wine of the year) was a tannic monster, although it mellowed after a few hours.  The Kotsifali was softer and rounder.  My father, who likes merlot a fair bit, couldn't stop pouring it.  I liked it bet...
