Nestled on a lower terrace of the Eola-Amity Hills’ eastern slope in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, our east facing 13 acre estate vineyard, Le Puits Sec, was planted in 1986. The soils are primarily basalt-derived volcanic and very well-drained, thus yielding pinot noir with great structure and at the same time aromatic and with finesse. As well, chardonnay and the Alsatian varieties thrive in this micro-climate, producing intensely varietal yet subtle wines. Evesham Wood obtained organic certification for both our estate vineyard and winery from Oregon Tilth in 2000. In addition, we are charter members of the Deep Roots Coalition, an advocacy group for wines produced exclusively from non-irrigated vines. Since 2005 Evesham Wood has been associated with the international organic/biodynamic organization, “Renaissance des Appellations”, whose members are required to adhere to rigid organic and quality standards. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Evesham Wood Pinot Noir Illahe 2007

    Snoothrank:

On the nose, I found raspberry dusted in confectioners sugar with earth tones and hints of green stems. On the palate, it was like velvet, as cherry and spicy clove enveloped my senses. The finish is fresh yet lingered on with wild berries and a bit of cedar. Read More

  • Evesham Wood Pinot Noir Il Bruno 2009

    Snoothrank:

Oh my goodness, I am watching 'Julie and Julia' on Netflix right now, with this bottle that i just bought, and it is the best pairing : ) It is the lightest Pinot Noir I ever drank in my life. And to me, it's all about strawberries, almost strawberry flowers, i't so light, and i don't mean conventional strawberries, but european tiny small wild ... Read More

  • Evesham Wood Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Cuvée J 2007

    Snoothrank:

This bottle showed much more earth on the nose than in the past. Chalk dust and graphite were dominant with vegetal pepper notes. Fruit on the nose was red yet nearly undetectable, however, still enjoyable. The palate showed round cherry fruit, confectioners sugar (not sweet though) and a bit of pepper (the spice). Very soft on the palate. Enjoy... Read More

  • Evesham Wood Winery Blanc du Puits Sec 2008

    Snoothrank:

Bit of a change from previous tastings but in no way bad. The nose was darker than usual with Olive, summer rain and honeydew melon. The palate was crisp and refreshing with lime and pear. A simple yet highly enjoyable wine and a great summer time sipper. Read More

  • Evesham Wood Pinot Noir Illahe 2007

    Snoothrank:

Very light red color with a nose of soil, graphite and tar with blackberry fruit buried deep beneath. The palate has filled out nicely since my last tasting giving it a softer and more velvety feel and showing raspberry fruit, earth, leather and black pepper. I've got to say that this Pinot has really rounded out over the past few months and now... Read More

  • Evesham Wood Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Cuvée J 2007

    Snoothrank:

A light ruby color with a power nose of raspberry with graphite, new leather, eucalyptus and a bit of bell pepper. Very different but interesting nose. On the Palate, light bodied with cranberry, sour blueberry (yum) earth and grassy green pepper. Short finish but interesting wine to say the least. Read More
