Living in the Langhe, working our vineyards is a great priviledge. This land, these hills, the climate and the authoctonous vines make up a unique and extraordinarily beautiful environment: We aim to respect and interpret this context, making wines that are better and better every year. Azienda Agricola Eugenio Bocchino is, and will always be, a small family business. We have 5.5 hectares of vineyards in seven vineyards in the Communes of La Morra, Verduno, Roddi and Alba. We produce two different lines of wines: The first is an absolute search for excellence, with three Barolos (including two "Crus" from La Morra, "La Serra" and "Plucotti" will be released in 2008), the Nebbiolo La Perucca and the classic Piemontese blend Suo di Giacomo (Nebbiolo and Barbera). Our second range of wines is aimed at reaching the optimum balance between quality, typicity and price, with three classic Langhe wines: Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba. Total production is around 22.000 bottles per year. – Description from markomkc

  • Eugenio Bocchino Nebbiolo d'Alba la Perucca 1999

    Snoothrank:

On the nose, this has an interesting and pleasant tart, floral note with grilled meat, dried strawberries, and warm earth underneath. There's also a subtle richness at the core of the aromas. On the palate, more grilled meat, lean red cherry / strawberry, and some dried herbs. Well balanced, with fine tannins and plenty of acidity remaining. Sti... Read More

    Snoothrank:

Over ripe fruit/ very ripe fruit, nice fruit though, a nice touch of nettle in among some sweet new but not toasty wood, sour cherry and sweet fruit, very soft at first, nice rigid feel to the mp, good fresh tannins, nice fresh core but then rather compressed on the finish, nice fruit though Read More

AWE blind tasting - nice refreshing balsamic scents, intense pine needle, ripe fruit, fur, amazing Christmas tree tone, much less interesting in the mouth, loose, without focus, some nice fruit and a touch of the balsamic character found on the nose but mostly a stripped flaccid wine, nice fruit re emerges on the finish, so maybe it will fill ...
