Ok, so I just polished off a young Rioja called Vega Ariana (see my tasting notes). It was only a Joven (i.e. not even a Crianza) so it's a young pup without the benefit of oak. Had this in a restaurant in Spain with Ox Steak. Worked really well. The strong fruit and tannins worked well with the red meat. Worth trying wines from less established denominations like La Mancha if they are from a respected name such as the Pesquera group. Read More
