Drappier
Charles de Gaulle's favourite champagne producer, Drappier is a relatively small family-owned House.
Planted in the Aube region in the south of Champagne, the Aube is in fact closer to Burgundy than Reims and produces some intensely flavoured Pinot Noirs which provides a real point of difference.
The more powerful pinot noir from the Aube results in a fuller bodied and more assertive complex style with a very fresh and dry finish. Drappier also uses a low sulphur regime and extracts a remarkably low yield from its vineyards.
Drappier is ranked by Champagne authority Tom Stevenson as the most dynamic independent producer of the Aube and a point of reference for the region.
Champagne has been produced by the Drappier family for 8 generations and is sold across 5 continents.
