The Michel family have been cultivating their passion for tradition and the Chablis terroir since 1850. The winery is situated right in the heart of the village, with the 25-hectare vineyard spread over the very first slopes that were discovered by Cistercian monks in the 11th century. 40 years ago, the family decided to stop making the wine in wooden barrels, preferring to create clean, pure and precise Chablis without adding artificial woody tastes. Through this philosophy, combined with the limited yields inspired by organic wine-growing techniques, the Domaine has developed a worldwide reputation for fine wine-making in stainless steel tanks. Today, the Domaine is managed by Jean-Loup Michel and his nephew, Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel, who is continuing the family tradition. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Gc les Clos 2012

    Snoothrank:

This wine hails from a mid-slope parcel towards the northern side of the appellation. Its most predominant character is its chiseled structure. Then, theres the beautiful typicity of chalk, yellow plums and pithy grapefruit zest. Its a shame to drink this young, yet it is showing well now. 95 pts Read More

Pure, fresh, fruity and austere all at once, it’s one of the greatest food wines on the planet, a... Read More

Got about a dozen cases moved closer to home, so now I'm pretty well set for the next few months of drinking! Next bottle up looks like it might very well be 1987 Dunn Napa Valley. Funny how Dunn was ... Read More
