So far i think the best gewurztraminer i've had has to be: Blanck Gewurztraminer Veilles Vignes, Alsace Grand Cru 2001 Furstentum (france)followed by Hugelheimer (i think that's the right spelling)i'm a huge fan of gewurztraminer, love the spicy, lychee filled nose, especially when it has a great body to it!! I'm a fan of Alsatian wines, but this one really impressed me - very concentrated wine - rich, sweet stone fruits on the nose and in the mouth. Almost sweet in its richness (but no sugar), balanced by good acidity - which gives it a clean finish. Read More
