Domaine Jean Bousquet is an organic winery in Topungato, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina. Jean Bousquet was already a successful winemaker from Carcassonne in the south of France in 1990 when he decided to relocate to Mendoza, and went on an extensive search for the ideal vineyard location. In 1997, he finally established himself in Topungato, attracted by its high altitudes (for superior grape balance), climate and rich soils. The wines are available in a line of Premium Varietals (includes Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Torrontes and a Malbec/Cab rosé), as well as Reservas, Grande Reservas and a sweet, late harvest Malbec dessert wine.

  • Jean Bousquet Grande Reserve Malbec 2010

    Snoothrank:

A very bold wine when it first hits the tongue but fades quickly. I'd recommend this wine for dinner because it won't be overwhelmed by the food. It is heavy, fruity, and for me required a good bit of aeration before the tannins were tamped down to acceptable levels. Read More

  • Chateau Bousquet Graves 2011

    Snoothrank:

BORING!!! Crystal clear in the glass. No perceivable aromas. On the palate is is almost watery--no fruit flavors at all. A little tartness might be the only saving grace, here. US$12.99 at Costco in Chino Hills Read More

  • Domaine Jean Bousquet Malbec Tupungato Reserva 2009

    Snoothrank:

What a nice surprise! I just found this wine choice today and I am thoroughly pleased. I only want to drink wine from organically grown or biodynamically grown grapes and this is one of the best I've come across. It's complex, smooth and lingers nicely in the mouth. Read More
