White Sancerre LE CHÊNE SAINT-ETIENNE Brilliant golden yellow, it glisten by his sheen. The nose is powerful and very aromatic with notes of very ripe yellow fruits (even tropical fruits), vanilla and spices! The palate is round, full and powerful yet well-balanced. Serve this wine with great fish dishes or, even better, a “Côte de Veau Crémeuse aux Langoustines et Marjolaine” (veal cutlet with a langoustine and marjoram cream sauce). Red Sancerre LE CHÊNE SAINT-ETIENNE Bright garnet with red tints. A genuine basket of red and black fruits with hints of game and spice. On the palate, its ampleness and structure are surprising and the tannins are very well assimilated. Serve it with a beef tournedos with chanterelle mushroom even a few small games with red fruits. The trees of the “district of Saint-Etienne” have a fine and dense texture, owing to their slow and steady growth. Its characteristics were more especially imprinted in the Saint-Etienne oak tree due to its great age. In contact Read more »

  • Henri Bourgeois Sauvignon Blanc Petit Bourgeois 2008

    Snoothrank:

This was impressive! For $12 out of France, I was floored. Screwcap, zingy sauvignon blanc. Actually, it had all the quintessential characteristics of a good sauvignon that I'm constantly looking for: zingy, grassy, fresh lemon/lime citrus fruit, smooth finish, but acidic enough to balance all the flavors. If you like Kim Crawford or Mud House f... Read More

  • Pouilly-Fumé Aoc 2007

    Snoothrank:

Les Baronnes is always reliable. Gooseberry, steely, grassy...somehow manages to be both somewhat opulent and nicelyl refined. Clean, bright and nicely textured from voluptuous fruit attack to mouthwatering lemon tang finish. Was awesome with two separate dinners: fancy pants mussels fettucini in a white wine and butter sauce, and cheap'n'eas... Read More

  • Pouilly-Fumé Aoc 2007

    Snoothrank:

Very aromatic with pleasant flower and fruit fragrances recalling the flower of the vine and the fruit of the Sauvignon. With mild citrus and minerality, on the palate it reveals a freshness and vivacity characteristic of grapes harvested at good maturity. Drink this as an aperitif or pair it with fish (try a halibut steak in lemon butter), seaf... Read More
