Our credo: grow frank and elegant wines and champion the cause of old local varieties – inviting them back to their place in the tale of languedoc
Clos du Gravillas is 8 hectares --14 grape varieties -- on a 300 meter-high plateau of crushed white gravel chips in the Parc Naturel de Haut Languedoc. Vines are worked organically (Ecocert). Pickers throw any grapes not good enough to eat on the ground. We believe that in the south, we should make wine from ripe grapes (god gave us the sun) and get balancing acidity by using old adapted varieties like carignan, high altitude vines on limestone, and working organically.
