Domaine de la Vougeraie was established in 1999 to bring together several extraordinary vineyards acquired over the years by the Boisset family; this union symbolized a new beginning for the vineyards inspired by a profound philosophy of excellence! Jean-Charles Boisset and his sister Nathalie chose to name this new winery after their parent’s house, La Vougeraie, as a nod to the domain’s large vineyard concentration in their hometown of Vougeot and as well as a tribute to their childhood roots and a challenge for the future. Convinced that sustainable practices are an essential part of making exceptional wines, the Boisset family chose to shift their farming practices of the new unified vineyards to biodynamic and organic farming. Since 2006, 100% of our vineyards are certified organic by Ecocert, although the majority had already received their certification several years before. Biodynamic practices are employed in all of our premier and grand cru vineyards.

  • Hi Guys:In my ongoing saga of trying to learn how to cook, I'm planning on giving lobster thermidor a whirl soon. I'd like to pair it with 2-3 wines, mostly as a pairing experiment to see which works best. Any ideas? • Domaine de la Vougeraie Vougeot les Cras 2007

Ok I know its expensive, but so far the wines of de la Vougeraie have always knocked me senseless in a blind tasting. They make my knees weak. Im not alone - Pierre Vincent got named Winemaker of the Year in 2010. 2007 is a good year to drink early, the silky red fruit is generous while it is still dominated by minerality, acid structure and fin... If you grew up on California Pinots but are thinking of venturing into Burgundy (a good thought to have) Vougeraie is a great bridge wine. They're fairly new to the scene but are making quality wines that marry new world fruit the old world finesse. This wine overflows with cinnamon and clove with dark cherries and currants providing great fruit... • Domaine de la Vougeraie Musigny Grand Cru 2009

Bearing in mind thet the 2009 has not yet left Premeaux Prissey yet, how can anyone make a comment in what it's like? The '03 was sublime, and personally I found the '02 rather severe and dour in comparison. Have tasted the 06, and liked it. However everyone says the '09 will be fabulous, and this wine is a Premier Cru manque [with an acute acce... Read More
