Châteauneuf-du-Pape,
The vinyard was first cultivated by the Barbarini family in the 14th century. The Barbarini's by then were wine makers of the pope that had moved to Avignon.
The current owners mother is the last Barbarini alive.

“Who made those stats ? The bulk of the reds are Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Whites are Marsanne and Rousanne. There is no chardonnay, Pinot noir or any Bordeaux blend planted.”
