  • Domaine Courbis Syrah St. Joseph 2003

    Snoothrank:

Intense dark inky color in glass with powerful dark berry and cassis. Lush and full bodied on the palate. Very herbal and earthy, but somewhat out of balance to me.- Tasted at Marché Bacchus 5/1/10 Read More

  • Domaine Courbis Syrah St. Joseph 2005

    Snoothrank:

Although rate 91 by RP, not my style. Nose was pretty faint, but had predominant scent of metal, maybe rust. Earthy, smoky, then distinct black pepper mid-palate. Medium tannins and body. Very similar to Cave de Tain Crozes Hermitage - not surprisingly since both of them are 100% Syrah. Flavor improves with food, in particular red meat. Read More

  • Domaine Courbis Cornas Champelrose 1998

    Snoothrank:

Garnet coloured. Medium intensity nose - quite oakey - developing nose of spicey, cooked fruit and cinnamon. Quite complex. Dry wine with well balanced tannins and good body & length. Read More
