this is from Robert Parker for the 2009, but I found it equally descriptive of this one, the 2008; ' "Two bargain-priced wines for consumers looking to maximize their purchasing power include the Andre Brunel 2009 Cotes du Rhone. It exhibits classic southern Rhone/Provencal notes of kirsch liqueur, roasted herbs, pepper and seaweed. Medium-bodi... Read More

Clarity-clear and bright little wine, with a beautiful purple colour and ruby hue. Nose-pronounced toasty/smokey red fruit- plum, strawberry, blackberry, a dash of wood shavings and a violet waft.Palate-lovely dry style with the perfect amount of acidity (medium +) for food from the wonders of the big beef stew to a tomato base chicken casserole.... The nose was earthy yet sweet and highly expressive, showing crushed cherries, floral tones, brown sugar and spice with bacon, charcoal and woodsy notes making the occasional appearance. On the palate it was very rich with a hint of sweetness to it's jammy red and black fruits yet still structured and very spicy. The finish showed a bit of dryin... Read More
