Dom Perignon

Dom Perignon is a Champagne brand often associated with luxury drinking. It has been produced since the 17th century, named after its creator, Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, who some say is the “Father of Champagne.” It was first produced commercially in 1936. The wines are only available from certain vintages and are highly coveted. The Chef de Cave is Richard Geoffrey, a former physician who began his wine career as the technical advisor for Domaine Chandon in Napa Valley, CA. The brand is owned by Moët Hennessy and is available in vintage blanc, vintage rosé, and Œnothéque (a blend of select vintages) blanc and rosé.

Dom Perignon on Snooth

  • Sounds like storage was good for all. Did everyone else provide a few bottles ... ... turned into a wasteland. Dom Perignon didn't come along for another 500 years, anyway. • This is the thread that brought me to ... there were 11FF per US $. Dom Perignon cost 100 FF. Sabering is a recent hobby of mine, so I did it just because I could and it was fun. The Grande Dame was great in the old days and my wife at the time worked for VCP so bottles were a plenty.Damn you are right, those good old days are gone. Forever.   Read More

  • Hi All,Thanks for welcoming me to your discussion group (great and fun site). I found snooth because I was trying to read up on aging champagne and I happened on an interesting and informative thread. While the short of it is 21 years ago, almost to the day, I laid away several bottles of champagne and sort of forgot about them. There were store... Read More

  • There is a major disconnect between the middling scores for other vintages of ... league of Krug, Roederer, Dom Perignon which this wine surely is not. Thus I was asking if the scoring was curve based where the best wine of the tasting is awarded 100pts and everything averages out from there. It seems disingenuous to be throwing numbers like t...
