Description 1 of 1
Dingač is a wine region and also a winery on the Pelješac Peninsula on the Dalmatian Coast on the southern tip of Croatia. The red-only wines are produced from Plavac Mali (which translates to “little blue”), genetically the same grape as American Zinfandel, and can only be labeled as Dingač if grown in that specific vineyard area. The vineyard is on a steep hillside of the peninsula, with a dramatic drop off overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The mascot for the winery is the donkey, since for a long time it was impossible for vehicles to drive along the steep hillside. The wines are characterized by lush, dark fruit, rose aromatics and a warm, spicy finish.
