Immersing yourself in a moment, whether it's a summer evening barbeque with close friends or dancing and making food with your sweetheart these moments weave together to make our lives. At Desert Moon, we believe that the small things in life make the best celebrations. We make simple honest wines to be enjoyed with food, family and friends. Our winemaking philosophy starts in the vineyard. Great grapes make great wine. We keep our crop yield low to allow the plant to conentrate its energies into the fruit. The harvest date is decided mostly by taste with a little science. Then the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in small batches. Reds are punched down 4 times a day then macerated for an additional 20 days to draw the best colors and flavors out of the skins before we press it down into oak barrels. Our rose is drawn off the skins of the reds within 24 hours of the initial crush, giving it a lighter flavor an color.
