Wine pervades the culture of Tuscany; it's a birthright. And each bottle of DaVinci wine begins its life just outside the historic town of Vinci. There in the Tuscan hillsides, over 200 local winegrowers have joined together to form Cantine Leonardo da Vinci—an innovative growers' cooperative committed to producing authentic Tuscan wine.

This pioneering cooperative encompasses over 500 hectares of vineyards. These vineyards are owned and run by local growers, such as Lorenzo Locci and Bruno Rossetti. Growers such as Lorenzo and Bruno are the heart and soul of Cantine Leonardo da Vinci.

Lorenzo oversees his family vineyard. For 50 years the Locci family has grown grapes for DaVinci Wine. For the last 30 years, Bruno also has nurtured his 7 hectare vineyard with love, care and the Tuscan traditions he learned from his father.

Lorenzo, Bruno, and all the passionate winegrowers who make up the Cantine Leonardo da Vinci cooperative ensure that DaVinci Wine is crafted with only the best Read more »

Earthy and full of maduro tobacco notes at first with growing background notes of black currant, and vanilla, gently accented by hints of mint and rusty earth with a lovely edge of sweetness. Not typical California Cabernet but very attractive in its own right. Lovely entry with bright acids and firm but balanced tannins supporting pure, bright ... Read More

  • Cantine da Vinci Chianti Reserva 2006

    Snoothrank:

I used to buy this wine a lot but when the price went up here in Southern Cal I switched to other brands. I found these on sale for around $10 at World Market so I picked up a couple but was less impressed than in the past. Not sure if I have just grown more accustom to more rustic tasting Chiantis or if this is just an off year for this bran... Read More

    Wine review by Frozen North

  • Not, I repeat not, a thread about whether the 2009 Bordeaux is great, but more about whether you trust the reviews. After the 2009 en primeur week, the opinion is unsurprisingly about a brilliant "vintage of the decade". I think this is the 3rd in the last 10 years n'est-ce-pas? So do we need to review how we review the en primeur? Do you trust ... Read More
