Crane Lake Cellars on Snooth

  • Crane Lake Petit Syrah 2011

    Snoothrank:

Excellent and recommended bargain wine - every bit as good as many that cost nearly three times as much. For less than $5/bottle - it's a winner, is full bodied, and perhaps one of their better selections. If it was poured in a decanter and aerated and served in a fancy atmosphere - you'd probably have no clue that it was a bargain wine. Read More

  • Crane Lake Pinot Noir California 2010

    Snoothrank:

I liked this wine, only paid $5.49 so was impressed that I liked it well enough! I am not a wine connoisseur by any means, but have had many glasses of wine, and this one wasn't bad! A little bold, not too bold, no long or bad aftertaste. Read More

  • We drink a lot of Crane Lake wines (1.5 cases/week) in our household. Can you tell us why the corks in the bottles of Chardonnay are so hard and wreck just about every corkscrew known to man? The corks in all other variatals are just fine, as are the corks in the 1.5litre bottles of Chardonnay. We look forward to your comments and recommendation...

  • To echo Beachnut57, this Malbec has the necessary acidity to stand up to red sauces. I am of the belief that if you have to sugar you red sauces you are using the wrong tomatoe products. This is a dirt cheap wine that will complement any tomatoe based recipe within reason. There is really almost no malbec character to the wine. I will assume...
